About Me: I teach beginning and intermediate Norwegian language. I have an undergraduate degree in German Education (UW-Eau Claire) and a M.A. in Scandinavian Studies from UW-Madison. In addition, I have completed graduate work in Applied English Linguistics at UW-Madison and the University of Oslo. I taught Norwegian at UW-Eau Claire for four years, before moving to Norway with my Norwegian husband for several years. I taught English as a Foreign Language in Norway before returning to Norwegian teaching and UW-Madison in 2000. My interest and passion has always been language teaching. I enjoy researching and exploring new ways to make language learning effective and fun. Most recently, I have been interested in exploring new technologies to use in language teaching. In addition to working with beginning and intermediate Norwegian students, I have enjoyed teaching an evening class through Continuing Education for adult learners. These students have shown me that it is never too late to learn a new language and their energy and enthusiasm after a full day’s work always inspires me.
