About: Holly is a PhD student in Scandinavian Studies. Following the medieval romances north, she first became interested in Old Norse literature through working with the Old Norse translation of Tristan and Isolde as part of her undergraduate thesis. Her master’s thesis, “That’s (Not) What She Said: Translating and Abridging Female Speech in Ívens saga,” examined the treatment of women’s dialogue in translation from the Old French Yvain into Old Norse. She also works as an assistant editor for Kyngervi, a student journal for Viking and Medieval Scandinavian Studies with a focus on gender and queer studies.
