About: I am a Ph.D. student in the Department of German, Nordic, and Slavic+. I received my Master of Arts in May 2023 from UW-Madison, and my Bachelor of Arts in May 2019 from Guilford College (Greensboro, NC). I lived and worked as an Au Pair for one year in Cologne after I received my bachelor’s degree, and began my graduate studies at UW-Madison in Fall 2021. My current research interests encompass language contact, Jugendsprache, code-switching, the influence of English in German and Dutch, and gender-neutral language. In 2023, I received a Summer Foreign Language Area Studies Fellowship for Dutch from the Center for European Studies.
