Research/Language Interests: Russian Religious Thought, Vladimir Solov’ev, The Eastern Orthodox Church, Jews in Russia, Gogol, and 19th and 20th-century Russian Literature.

About: Judith Deutsch Kornblatt came to the Department of Slavic Languages and Literature in 1987 as a Visiting Assistant Professor. Over her almost thirty years at UW-Madison, she served as chair of the Slavic Department 3 times, and spent 10 years serving in the Graduate School as Associate Dean for Arts and Humanities and as Senior Associate of Graduate Education. She retired from the university in 2013.
