The Wisconsin Slavic Conference

Slavic’s annual graduate-student run conference—with the theme of “On the Edge: Cultural Geographies of Resistance”—will take place this Friday and Saturday, March 24 and 25. Dr. Yuliya Ilchuk (Stanford University) will deliver the keynote address titled “Memory on the Move: Narrating Refugee Experiences during the War” at 4pm on Friday in 104 Van Hise Hall, and she will also facilitate readings of poetry written by Ukrainian women during the war (“Here’s your language, woman, shoot from it!”) on Saturday at 1:10 in the Pyle Center (room 335).

The conference itself will take place all day on Saturday, starting at 8:45am in the Pyle Center (room 335). The conference program is here.

Slavic Studies is grateful to PhD students Jesse Kruschke, Isabella Palange, and Yekaterina Pak for their work on the organizing committee and to Prof. Andrew Reynolds for his work as faculty advisor!
