Join us at the Max Kade Institute to celebrate the recent acquisition of a collection of books, some of them quite rare, published by and about Anabaptists. Donated by J. Denny Weaver, these mostly German- and Dutch-language items were collected by Weaver and his late father-in-law, J. C. Wenger, a professor at Goshen College who was one of the 20th century’s preeminent Mennonite scholars.

We will begin with presentations by Mark Louden and J. Denny Weaver (University Club, Room 313), followed by an exhibit of some of the collection items and a reception in the MKI exhibit space (University Club, 4th floor).

Mark Louden is the Alfred L. Shoemaker, J. William Frey, and Don Yoder Professor of Germanic Linguistics in the Department of German, Nordic, and Slavic+ and the Director of the Max Kade Institute at the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
J. Denny Weaver is Professor Emeritus of Religion at Bluffton (OH) University.

This lecture is sponsored by the Max Kade Institute for German American Studies with co-sponsorship by the Friends of the Max Kade Institute.
