About: Melanie is a German Ph.D. candidate with a focus on SLA. She graduated in 2020 from the University of Hannover with an M.A. in Education. Her majors were German and English. Simultaneously, she also graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with an M.A. in German Studies and a Minor in College Teaching. Her master thesis focused on the use of literature in a foreign language classroom.
Currently, she is working on her dissertation with the topic: Reading faces – How emotional meaning is communicated through facial expression in an L2.
