About Me: I got my B.A from Nazarbayev University, Kazakhstan. Then, I spend two years in the University of Colorado Boulder where I received my master degree. My master thesis was based on Tolstaya’s novel The Slynx. I looked at how the grotesque functions on different levels in the novel and how its post-modern manifestation is different from its predecessors. I also taught intensive Russian courses for three summers at SSRES (Summer School in Russian and Eurasian studies at Nazarbayev University). In my free time, I enjoy drawing children’s illustration and have illustrated one trilingual children’s book.
