About: Ailie Westbrook is a Ph.D. candidate in the folklore track in Scandinavian Studies at the University of Wisconsin–Madison in the Department of German, Nordic, and Slavic. Ailie received her B.A. in Folklore and Archaeology from Harvard University with a focus on Medieval Scandinavia. Following her B.A., Ailie received her MA in Scandinavian studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The MA culminated in a thesis focusing on gynaecological cures in medieval Danish manuscripts. Her current research is in women’s health in medieval Denmark and Sweden.
