What is the focus of your dissertation research?
I’m in my first year here at UW-Madison, but hopefully my dissertation will be focused on translation of Russian poetry from Russian into English. One of my undergraduate theses focused on translation of Fazil Iskander’s poetry, and I am hoping to continue working with his poetry.
Which classes have you taught here?
I currently am not teaching, but am looking forward to teaching Russian literature in the future.
If you had to choose one work of Slavic literature that has had the most impact on you, which would it be and why?
Fazil Iskander’s poetry. Or Twelve Chairs by Ilf and Petrov, which was one of the first lighthearted Russian books I read (long a go), and it helped me see Russian literature as not perpetually heavy.
